About The Citizens
The Citizens was founded in 2020 by Pulitzer-nominated journalist Carole Cadwalladr in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica/Facebook scandal. It is a not-for-profit journalism organisation with a focus on democracy, data rights and disinformation. The Citizens fight to hold political leaders, Big Tech executives, and disinformation superspreaders to account.

A simple-to-use but powerful Content Management System (CMS) allows easy creation of new posts, and sophisticated tagging to facilitate discovery and cross-linking at the front end.
Facebook data visualisations
The Facebook Receipts is a project of The Citizens, designed to expose Facebook’s activity in Washington D.C. and around the globe as it attempts to influence legislation and regulation. The goal is to pull back the curtain on Facebook’s influence operations that it tries to conceal from public view.
