We implemented user-friendly digital services across EMDR’s digital estate:
Members' area / Single Sign-On
With several disparate digital touchpoints at the time of starting work with EMDR, our joint goal has always been to have everything under one login – Single Sign-On (SSO). After an 18-month modernisation we now have that.
Payment subscriptions
Members are auto-renewed online and all profile and payment information is managed via a secure account.
Forum
Therapists needs somewhere secure and confidential to debrief and raise questions. Public social media didn't cut it so we build a Forum direct into WordPress. Star feature: the daily digest email (with thanks to UseStrict Consulting).
Interactive map
Members of the public can search for any EMDR therapist who is a member of the Association using our interactive map.
Accessibility as a foundation
In keeping with the Association's overarching mission and an increased attention to inclusivity, web accessibility was a high priority for EMDR UK's web platforms. Fortunately it is for us too and we were well-versed on how to attain an AA rating. How we did it – part automated tools (Lighthouse) and part with real user testing with sight-impaired users and testing it ourselves with the inbuilt Mac screenreader.

One website, two distinct audiences
Right from the homepage, EMDR UK needs to speak to both the general public and qualified EMDR therapists. We did this through authorataive colour palate that includes splashes of bright colour, imagery and plain-speaking text. Sections for professionals are clearly sign-posted.

Digital brand development
To help all staff and volunteers apply EMDR digital brand consistently across all communications and touchpoints we produced a Brand Guide with guidance on logo usage, typography, colour palettes, iconography and imagery to use and avoid. Thorough enough to cover bases – short enough to be read over a tea!

Matthew Wesson
Tim and his team guided us through a digital evolution over several years to a sophisticated suite of interconnected resources that serve both the general public and our membership of 7,000 users. They developed an attractive and scalable digital brand modernising our online presence with authority. They operate with integrity and transparency, and have the aims of EMDR UK at their heart.
