The content management system that has stood the test of time. We backed WordPress from the mid-2000s for its free and open source ethic, and easy-to-use editing interface.

It has been a hit with clients – most especially with those who’ve previously used the alternatives!

User Experience (UX)

Long before UX was a buzzword, we were doing it – as user-centred design. UX isn’t a phase in the process or a box you can tick then move on – its embedded, and informs nearly every conversation and decision throughout the design process and beyond launch.

If UX is new to you, we can help you think in a user-centred way so that this concept will endure beyond the design phase and into your content writing and marketing strategy.

Accessibility

I first thought about web accessibiltiy in the mid-2000s when working for the NHS and making the organ donor register available to the widest possible audience. The WHO estimates that 16% of the global population (that’s 1.3 billion) have accessiblity needs. Whether you are motivated morally or by ‘bottom line’ or somewhere in between, it’s a motivating number.

I once read (and I paraphrase as I cannot find the source): “thanks to technology a blind person can for the first time read the daily newspaper unaided. Whoa.” That’s to say – thanks to screenreader technology which reads web pages aloud, content which previously could not have been consumed without physically reading, can now be – which is kinda mind-blowing and acts as a motivational thought when building websites.

For projects like EMDR we have ensured the site meets strong accessiblity requirements, including working with screenreader technology.
